Azteca America and Voto Latino

Azteca America is expanding its partnership with Voto Latino and has launched a new PSA campaign titled “Atrévete.”  The campaign urges and empowers American Latino millennials to become informed and involved in the upcoming general election.


Alma Expands The Team

Alma has appointed two new vice presidents to their executive team; Beatriz Del Amo will lead the agency’s McDonald’s brand – the 4th largest account in the U.S. Hispanic market – in addition to developing new partnerships as VP Group Account Director. Michael Sotelo is now VP of Digital for Alma; he was formerly the Head of U.S. Multicultural Marketing for Facebook.


Tecate Kicks A Goal                        

Tecate will launch a new ad campaign featuring Canelo Alvarez and Mexican soccer referee Felipe Ramos Rizo to promote its Tecate and Tecate Light brands. The brand will also unveil new packaging featuring a makeover of the beer brand’s iconic Black Eagle.


Univision and Bancomer

Univision has partnered with Bancomer Transfer Services, Inc. to announce the launch of Univision Remesas, an international digital money transfer service for Hispanics in the U.S. that can be used via phone or email.


A Musical Salute

Lila Downs and Andy Garcia will join Earth, Wind & Fire and Martina McBride as performers for the “GRAMMY Salute to Music Legends” taking place in Los Angeles on April 23rd at the Dolby Theater.   The show honors 2016 Special Merit Awards Recipients, which includes the late Celia Cruz, with a live tribute concert and will air on PBS’ “Great Performances,” later this year.


Jorge Mejia At Sony/ATV

Jorge Mejia has been promoted to President of Sony/ATV Music Publishing for Latin America and U.S. Latin. Mejia will head Sony/ATV’s entire operations for the U.S. Latin market and Latin America, overseeing offices in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Miami.


A Soccer Celebration

The Copa America Centenario, celebrating the 100th anniversary of the soccer championship, will take place this summer in the U.S., marking the first time the tournament has been played outside of South America. Sponsors include Anheuser-Busch InBev, Delta Airlines, Nike, Coca-Cola, Sprint and State Farm.  Matches between 10 South American teams and 6 teams from North America will be played in venues across the U.S., with the final scheduled for June 26th at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
